I just bought Movie Studio HD ($29.99 at Costco) and I have not yet mastered it, but so far it appears to be much easier to use than Image Mixer. Since this is my first foray into video, the learning curve is enormous. Apparently my challenges lie with the high definition, not the mode of getting it onto the computer. I don't know what type of camcorder you have so I can't really answer your question. I sure hope someone was able to help you get the videos for your history project on time.
