Canon EOS 60D & New Rebels
The new Canon EOS 60D and Canon’s line of Rebel cameras are expected to be unveiled at the PMA Photography EXPO in Anaheim, California on February 20th.
If the multitude of rumors are true, these new Canon cameras will carry swivel screens, which were obviously made to compete with Nikon.
The Canon EOS 60D is expected to come out with a metallic body featuring a 15.1 megapixel resolution. Additional rumors say they will also have an improved sensor as well as low light sensitivity.
So is this new Canon just an upgrade of the 50D? Or, as the nomenclature suggests, has Canon done enough to warrant altering the numbers in increments of ten?
My wife first purchased the 40D, skipped over the 50D, so is this new camera really going to be a 60 . . . or perhaps a 7? Both the Canon and Nikon users in this household are waiting with baited breath…
A friend once asked, “What’s the difference between a professional photographer and an amateur?”
That question is not as difficult to answer as one might think. But the way these camera manufacturers talk about it, if you buy the less expensive cameras you are an amateur or amateur/professional.
They want you to believe that a true professional will buy only the high end cameras. A great marketing ploy, to be sure, yet most of the pros I know carry high end cameras on the job, with mid-range cameras such as the 40D or 50D for backup. They get the job done, often just as well as the high end model camera.
This is my answer to the friend’s question:
A true professional in any field will join, share with and learn from other professionals in organizations that strive to raise the standards of excellence and conduct in that field, such as the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), or Digital Imaging Association (DIA) .
Well, I’ve racked my brain enough in writing this blog, so I think I will go open up my camera locker and take out, let’s see, how about a Nikon F2? I purchased this one new in 1971, then in the next ten years took it on assignment to Vietnam, the Arctic, the North Sea, and Middle East.
I’m going to go out and shoot some film this afternoon. Just for the fun of it!

hello fine little site you have there
I apply the very same template on my own yet for whatever weird explanation it seems to reload earlier on yours despite the fact that the one you have has much more content material. Have you been employing any kind of plug ins or widgets that will speed it up? Do you think you might be able to write about the programs so I might use these on my own web page so twilight eclipse supporters could watch twilight eclipse online trailers and films swifter I’d always be grateful – cheers ahead of time

Thanks for the compliment, Watch Twilight. I’ve had some fun pulling together some of my collective experiences and knowledge, but don’t have as much time to post here as I’d like.
As to plugins and widgets … I’m still getting a grasp on the 21st century techno gadgets so I probably can’t help you. The truth is, we do have 10 plugins loaded, because someone said we should … but none of them are activated yet. Someday I’ll figure out what they are all supposed to do…
Could be a number of reasons why your site is loading slower, most of which are probably beyond my comprehension as well.
First, of course, it may just be your computer. Maybe it loads faster on other computers. I clear out my cookies and browsing history every time I get off the internet, and that really helps my computer work faster.
Your host may be the problem. We use Hostgator and they have a fine reputation for not overloading their servers, but your host’s server might be getting bogged down.
Maybe you don’t have as much content material, but video uses a lot more resources. When I finally post all the images I have planned, we’ll see how fast we load then :=)
BTW – have you been to Forks?

After searching for this information, I will have to say most people agree with you on this topic.

hi i posted a remark quite some time back relating to just how to speed up my twilight eclipse site’s loading time considering the fact that we made use of the very same theme at that time and someone left a comment answering it on my web site a couple of days ago – if that was you I just wanted to say regards, and if it was not you then i am sorry to bother you, but thanks anyway!

Robert, thanks for checking back in with us. Being photographers, we tend to be out of town more than in and takes awhile to catch up on the blog spam and comments.
This trip had more to do with massive dental work in Los Algodones, Mexico, than either photography or car fun, although we enjoyed the drive in a rental car from San Diego to Yuma and managed to squeeze in a few interesting shots here and there.
Maybe when we get caught up, I’ll share my dental experience in case anyone else out there needs an excellent dentist at 1/3 or so of our local prices…
Ever resolve your slow loading issues?
